Universidad de Los Andes
The Organic Biomolecular research group belongs to Instituto de Investigaciones de la Facultad de Farmacia y Bioanálisis. Our investigation is based in phytochemical studies of different species belonging to a variety of families located mainly in the Venezuelan Andes. Some of our research areas are listed below:

1.	Phytochemical study of the species belonging to:

Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae)
Baccharis (Asteraceae)
Vismia (Guttiferae)
Gnaphalium (Asteraceae)
Monticalia (Asteraceae)
Tagetes (Asteraceae)

2.	Antibacterial activity assays of the crude extract and isolated compounds from the studied species
3.	Studies on the chemical composition and antibacterial activity of essential oil of aromatic plants from the Andes region
