dc.description.abstractLa Ley del Servicio Comunitario del Estudiante de Educación Superior y el reglamento de la ley para los estudiantes de pre-grado de la Universidad de Los Andes, es una realidad que nos obliga como universidad a proyectar hacia las comunidades los resultados de estudios e investigaciones realizados en las diferentes escuelas de nuestras facultades; para su aplicación en las múltiples áreas (salud, vivienda, servicios, educación, ambiente, cultura, etc.) en las cuales esas mismas comunidades muestran deficiencias funcionales y operativas. Constituye también una campanada de alerta para que todos en la universidad dirijan su mirada hacia sus comunidades, a las cuales se deben, en procura de elevar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. Las normas están escritas, las actividades claramente delineadas, las responsabilidades perfectamente definidas, sólo está pendiente la decisión de hacer las cosas y empezar a hacerlas. Todos tenemos parte activa en la implementación de esta loable iniciativa, es hora de asumir el reto de convertir a Venezuela en un país social y ambientalmente sustentable. Vamos a hacerlo.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The Community Service Law for the Higher Education Student and the rules of the law for undergraduate students at the University of Los Andes is a reality that forces us as a university to put across to the community the results of studies and research done in the different schools at our faculties; for their application in the multiple areas (health, living, services, education, environment, culture, etc.) in which those same communities show operational and functional flaws. It constitutes as well a whistle-blower so everybody at the university look upon their communities, which they owe themselves to, in order to improve the quality of life of their inhabitants. The rules are written, the activities are clearly outlined, the responsibilities are perfectly defined, all is needed is to make the decision of doing something about it and doing it. We all take active part in the implementation of this commendable initiative; it is time to assume the challenge of turning Venezuela into a sociable and environmentally sustainable country.
