| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | In order to generate information on the nutritional value of the main forage species in the Irel Experimental Station of the Forest and Environmental College of the Universidad de Los Andes, were collected samples of pastures Panicum maximun (guinea), Hyparrehnia rufa (yaraguá), and Trachypogon spp. (paja peluda). The reducing sugars, with averages of 4.68% to 5.78%, showed no significant difference for types of grass. Statistically, cellulose, extracts in alcohol-benzene, ashes, lignin and crude protein, are different at each sample, with percentage means of 44.16 to 48.02, 4.96 to 5.79; 10.88 to 16.09; 9,16 to 14,79 and 5,41 to 7,94, respectively. There is, generally low values in reducing sugars and proteins. Although the crude protein value of 7.94% for paja peluda can be considered suitable for not controlled grass, average of 14,8% for lignin, hinders its digestibility. The forage species studied do not receive any agronomic management, demonstrating need to improve the current pastures from El Irel. Grazing it is recommended in El Irel, only if the current grass is replaced by controlled plantations. | es_VE |
