Resumen en otro Idioma | Latin American literature today is represented by a criticism which finds itself in a formidable crisis. This crisis impacts writing, which is confi ned to the document or to allegory (Jameson, Avelar); it also impacts intellectuals who are intimidated by the news media (Franco), and the university which is becoming increasingly technological (Sarlo, Thayer, Avelar). We offer a different perspective: the educated class holds no monopoly on how to explain and understand the people; popular is not synonymous with mass media and the writers of the Boom are not the only precursors of post dictatorship fiction. Using these assumptions, we will proceed to show that there is a literary and “auratic” critical tradition capable of producing aesthetically sound judgements on writing and the literary work, in addition to addressing the emancipatory aspirations of people who are liberal, progressive and to the left. |
