dc.description.abstractEste artículo presenta una breve reseña del vigésimo sexto Congreso Internacional de Matemáticos celebrado en Hyderabad, India, en agosto de 2010. Esta describe aspectos relevantes del evento como la ceremonia inaugural que incluye las palabras de Su Excelencia La Presidenta de La India, Shrimati Pratibha Devinsingh Patil, la entrega de las Medallas Fields, los premios Nevanlinna y Gauss, y el recién creado premio Chern, así como los alcances del congreso en términos de conferencias plenarias, por secciones y satelitales, afiches, ponencias, etc. También se mencionan algunas de las principales actividades complementarias realizadas. Finalmente, se presenta un pequeña sección sobre la vida y cultura en la India. Finalmente, una lista de todas las referencias consultadas.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1This article presents a short account on the twenty sixth International Congress of Mathematicians held in Hyderabad, India, in August of 2010. It describes relevant aspects of the event as the opening ceremony that includes the speech of Her Excellence The President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Devinsingh Patil, the presentation of the Fields Medals, the Nevanlinna and Gauss prizes, and the recent created Chern Prize, as well as the accomplishments of the congress in terms of plenary, by sections and satellite conferences, posters, short communications, etc. Also some of the main scheduled complementary activities are mentioned. Finally, a few refl ections on this important worldwide mathematical event are given. Finally, a list of all the references reviewed.es_VE
