Abstract
La imagen urbana es la suma de impresiones y percepciones, que una persona
o grupo tienen de la ciudad, dicha representación surge en un escenario
dinámico y cambiante que marca el desarrollo y la evolución de la urbe,
denominado entorno urbano. El presente trabajo se centra en determinar la
influencia del entorno en la formación de la imagen de la ciudad de Maracaibo
desde la perspectiva de su centro histórico más antiguo. La importancia
de esta investigación, descriptiva y aplicada radica en los aportes que hace
el estudio de la imagen urbana al desarrollo de la colectividad, ya que gestionándola
eficazmente, las ciudades potencian sus rasgos más característicos.
La formación de la imagen de la ciudad de Maracaibo está influenciada
negativamente por el entorno, ya que se destacan aspectos peyorativos de la
misma que desdeñan y condicionan dicha representación, puntualizados en
problemas presentes en el ámbito social, económico y ambiental.

The present work focuses on determining the influence of environment in shaping the image ofthe city of Maracaibo from the perspective of the oldest historic center. The importance of this research, descriptive and applied, lies in the contributions made the study of the urban image of the community development, as effective management, enhance the city’s most characteristic traits. The formation of the image of the city of Maracaibo is negatively influenced by the environment, ashighlighted pejorative aspects of the same disdain and condition that such representation, pointing to problems in the social, economic and environmental. |
