Abstract
La lectura de novelas históricas latinoamericanas, enmarcadas en el proceso de independencia durante el siglo XIX, se realiza prestando particular atención a los personajes históricos de la época. En las novelas seleccionadas para este estudio La tragedia del generalísimo (1983) del autor venezolano Denzil Romero (1938-1999), así como, Las dos muertes del general Simón Bolívar (2004) del escritor argentino Mario Szchiman (1941) se constituyen en el centro de las interpretaciones literarias del siguiente artículo.

Resumen en otro IdiomaWe are reading Latin American historical novels framed on the course of independence at the nineteenth century, giving particular attention to the historical figures of the time. The novels selected for this study The tragedy of Generalissimo (1983) by the venezuelan writer Denzil Romero (1938- 1999), and The Two Deaths of General Simon Bolivar (2004) by the argentine writer Mario Szchiman (1941) become the center of the literary interpretations in this paper.
