dc.description.abstractEl artículo explica las reflexiones formuladas por estudiantes de formación docente en Geografía y Ciencias de la Tierra sobre la formación en valores, del Núcleo Universitario Dr. Pedro Rincón Gutiérrez de la Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela. Asume la problemática de la enseñanza geográfica, al limitarse a transmitir contenidos programáticos. Metodológicamente, interrogó a estudiantes de la Cátedra de Didáctica de la Geografía en el año escolar 2011-2012, con la aplicación de una pregunta abierta de respuesta tipo ensayo. Los resultados destacan que el mundo global está en crisis, la educación debe adecuarse a esta época de cambios y transformaciones y la enseñanza de la geografía debe promover los valores ciudadanos. Finalmente, enfatiza la necesidad de repensar la labor social de la enseñanza geográfica desde la formación integral del ciudadano, en correspondencia con los cambios del mundo contemporáneo.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The article explains the re? ections formulated by students of educational formation in Geography and Earth Sciences on the formation in values, of the University Nucleus Dr. Pedro Rincón Gutiérrez of the University of the Andes, Venezuela. It assumes the problematic of geographic education, when limiting itself to transmit programmatic contents. Methodologically, it interrogated to students of the Chair of Didactics of Geography in scholastic year 2011-2012, with the application of an open question of type test response. The results emphasize that the global world is in crisis, the education must adapt to this time of changes and transformations and the education of geography must promote the citizen values. Finally, it emphasizes the need for rethinking the social work of geographic education from the integral formation of the citizen, in correspondence with the changes of the contemporary world.es_VE
