dc.description.abstractEl proyecto de Bioestadística fue un eje integrador de los conocimientos de la asignatura en el contexto de salud y buscó que los estudiantes involucren el estudio de una situación práctica, enfatizando la comprensión conceptual y el desarrollo de destrezas procedimentales, lo que implicó un desafío para el profesor de la asignatura. Objetivo: describir una experiencia educativa sobre proyectos de Bioestadística en la carrera de Medicina, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida, Venezuela, durante el período lectivo U2014-2015. Método: enfoque mixto, tipo descriptivo, diseño de campo. Resultados: las calificaciones estuvieron entre 10,00 y 19,50 puntos, promedio de 15,60 ± 2,00 puntos y error estándar de 0,12 puntos. Conclusiones: el proyecto les permitió a los estudiantes contextualizar la estadística y motivar el aprendizaje de los contenidos de la materia, debido a que la resolución de un tema de investigación les permitió a los participantes la búsqueda de nuevas maneras de pensar y ser consistente en el discurso necesario para la presentación del reporte de investigación por grupo de trabajo; se obtuvo mayor interés por la asignatura y buenas calificaciones.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The Biostatistics project was an integrative axis of the subject's knowledge in the context of health and sought to involve students in the study of a practical situation, emphasizing conceptual understanding and development of procedural skills, implying a challenge for the Professor of the subject. Objective: to describe an educational experience on Biostatistics projects in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida, Venezuela, during the academic period U2014-2015. Method: mixed approach, descriptive type, field design. Results: the scores were between 10.00 and 19.50 points, mean 15.60 ± 2.00 points and standard error 0.12 points. Conclusions: the project allowed the students to contextualize the statistics and motivate the learning of the content of the subject, because the resolution of a research topic allowed the participants to search for new ways of thinking and to be consistent in the Speech necessary for the presentation of the research report by working group; Greater interest in the subject and good grades were obtained.es_VE
