Resumen en otro Idioma | We seek to understand the elements that constitute the urban structure in order to define models that provide intervention strategies for a specific urban space; the case that we present, approaches the study of a sector of the traditional hull of the city of Mérida - Venezuela. The work was developed through three fundamental stages: the first one of analysis, seeks to understand the urban-architectural characteristics of the sector under study with the aim of apprehending guidelines that guide the subsequent stages of intervention; The second of urban intervention, seeks to recover the wealth of traditional centers, but incorporating the advantages of contemporary urban planning in terms of image, landscape and mobility; The third and last stage, of architectural intervention, seeks to enrich the sector by means of the insertion of an urban equipment according to its activities and scale. Methodologically, the research was carried out through both quantitative and qualitative approaches, which allowed us to combine data from field inspection and documentary review, with the study of theoretical-conceptual and urban-architectural theories, concluding with the formulation of criteria of urban and architectural design that defined the final proposal. The proposal seeks to rescue different urban sectors within the city, giving them architectural value and gradually connecting them in a coherent way from the morphological, functional and landscape points of view. The results of the intervention of the Plaza Sucre as an urban proposal and the incorporation of the Municipal Theater as an architectural proposal, prove precisely that Mérida lacks spaces suitable for the enjoyment of the pedestrian and for the visual recognition of its architecture. |
