Abstract
En este artículo se presentan los resultados del acopio, transcripción y análisis
de un conjunto de documentos depositados en el Archivo General de la Nación,
Caracas, relativos a inventarios de haciendas de caña de azúcar de la Provincia de
Caracas en el siglo XVIII. A partir del estudio de estas fuentes históricas, se han
podido conocer las características constructivas, dimensiones espaciales, divisiones
funcionales, materiales y técnicas de procesamiento de la caña de azúcar en estos
antiguos establecimientos coloniales, lo cual permite contar con datos que pueden
ser contrastados con futuros estudios de restos materiales de estas edificaciones.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | This paper presents the results of the collection, transcription and analysis of a set of documents deposited in the General Archive of the Nation, Caracas, related to inventories of sugar cane haciendas of the Province of Caracas in the 18th century. Based on the study of these historical sources, it has been possible to know the constructive characteristics, spatial dimensions, functional divisions, materials and techniques of sugarcane processing in these old colonial establishments, which allows to have data that can be contrasted with future studies of the physical remains of these buildings. |
