Resumen en otro Idioma | The game of chess is world famous. It is a board game with specific pieces that simulate a battle. The article below seeks to study through semiotics the case of chess designed by the Japanese Takako Saito, which omits the iconic pieces of the game, replacing them with identical boxes, inviting players to identify new signs to complete the game. The characteristic visual signs have been omitted and replaced by auditory signs, which challenges those involved beyond the typical chess game. This adaptation of the game will be analyzed through the concepts of semantics, syntax and pragmatics to understand the creation of this board and the relationship it has with the players. It is interesting to do this analysis because this adaptation requires reinterpreting the already conventionalized symbols typical of the game. It is important to carry out an analysis of these objects through semiotics to understand in detail the reason for their configuration and the impact they have on current society, whether in museums or in everyday life as things of daily use. |
