| dc.description.abstract | En la ciudad de Trujillo existe una anarquía total en lo referente a la
planificación y el desarrollo físico de la misma, no existen verdaderas políticas
que permitan orientar en un corto o mediano plazo las zonas de la
ciudad hacia donde esta debe desarrollarse. Desde la inauguración del eje
vial Trujillo – Valera, se consideró que este eje carretero constituiría sin
lugar a dudas el polo de desarrollo de las ciudades señaladas. Hasta el
momento, esta situación no se ha implementado y Trujillo ha venido creciendo
de manera desmesurada hacia terrenos con características muy particulares
(presencia de arcillas expansivas y compresivas, movimientos de
masas gravitacionales, problemas de infiltración del agua, pipping o sufución
mecánica entre otros problemas). En la mayor parte de los casos, los diferentes
desarrollos urbanos carecen de los estudios geotécnicos del terreno y
menos aún de los diseños adecuados de construcción en lugares con características
como las mencionadas. Se hace totalmente necesario, en este sentido
incentivar la localización de todas y cada una de las amenazas naturales
a que esta sometida la ciudad, su cartografía para de esta manera establecer
adecuadamente los planes de desarrollo local y regional. Este trabajo,
ha sido financiado a través del CDCHT de la ULA, a través del Código
NURR – C – 354- 04 – 02 – B, y forma parte de una de las principales líneas

| dc.description.abstract1 | In the city of Trujillo a total anarchy exists in what planning and physical
development of the same one concern, it doesn’t exist there real policies
that allow to orientate in a short or medium term the zones of the city where
these ones must be implemented. From the inauguration of the highway Trujillo
- Valera, this vial axis was considered to constitute no doubt the growth point
of the aforementioned cities. Up to the moment, this situation has not been
solved and Trujillo has come growing inordinately towards areas with very
particular characteristics (presence of expansive and compressive clays,
movements of gravitational masses, problems of water infiltration, piping or
mechanics suffusion among other problems). In most of the cases, the different
urban developments lack geotechnical studies of the area and especially suitable
building designs in places with characteristics as the mentioned ones. It is
absolutely necessary in this respect to encourage for the location of each and
every natural threat to which the city, its cartography, is undergone in order to
adequately establish hereby the plans of local and regional development. This
