dc.description.abstractEn La ciudad de Dios, San Agustín respondió a quienes culpaban al cristianismo por la conquista de Roma por los bárbaros en 410, mostrando que ello ya había ocurrido antes de Cristo, y que la religión romana era moralmente ineficaz. Para construir su respuesta recurrió a textos de Marco Tulio Cicerón, que reprobaba la moral decadente de la sociedad romana; pero también tomaba distancia de las ideas del cónsul opuestas al cristianismo. Aquí examino dos casos de la influencia de Cicerón en San Agustín desde los conceptos gadamerianos de ‘aplicación hermenéutica’ y ‘fusión de horizontes’, y realizo luego unos comentarios y reflexiones sobre la aproximación y la distancia entre ambos autores.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1In The City of God, Saint Augustine answered who blamed Christianity for the conquest of Rome by the barbarians in 410, showing that it had happened before Christ, and that the Roman religion was morally ineffective. To build your answer texts appealed to Marcus Tullius Cicero, criticizing the moral decadence of Roman society, but also took away the consul of ideas opposed to Christianity. I examine two cases of Cicero's influence in Saint Augustine from Gadamerian concepts of 'hermeneutic application' and 'fusion of horizons', and then completed a few comments and thoughts about the approach and the distance between the two authors.es_VE
