los parámetros de diseño, las mismas han podido disminuir los niveles de vulnerabilidad;
| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | The results and views obtained on major catastrophe of natural origin suffered in Venezuela
at the end of the twentieth century are analyzed. Maximum rainfall of around 800 mm,
intensities of 200 mm/h and 150 hectares reclaimed by the sea were estimated. A sad world
record was achieved by generating 20x106 m3 of sediment in a single event and impact
one of the most populated areas. Although some control measures have been built outside
the design parameters, they have been able to reduce levels of vulnerability, however this
contrasts when people assumed, without guidance, its own reconstruction, restoring predisaster
conditions. By the middle of this century, models predict an increase in rainfall in
this region, accompanied by a high seismogenic potential force implement a policy of risk
management. | es_VE |
