| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | In this book, Dr. Bernal Campos first makes a journey through the history and culture of Russia in order to understand the context in which Dostoievski lived. Then it focuses on the particularities of the writer’s life that
are directly related to the events that shaped his thinking: especially the crucial fact of being sentenced to death
by the Tsar and then, at the last moment, being pardoned and sent to prison and forced labor in Siberia. This event changed his actions and thought from a theoretical approach to a philosophical reflection from experience. In Siberia he experienced hunger, suffering, silence, near death, outrage, etc. These experiences, linked to the
discovery of Christian hope and love in the person of Jesus Christ, helped him scrutinize the human soul with the
ultimate questions of life that philosophy and theology ask. Thus, his literary production is marked by a profound
and transcendent anthropocentrism. The experience of the human person is seen from reality, transcendence and
mystery. Dostoievski wonders about man, the meaning of life, death, love, forgiveness, and God. Dostoyevsky is
more than a psychological writer. He is a writer who deals with philosophical questions that trouble the human
heart. In the case of this Russian writer we cannot separate life and work; his questions and concerns about man
are at the same time the major themes of his literary works. | es_VE |
