dc.description.abstractEste trabajo pretende estudiar a la sociedad caraqueña a través de las partidas matrimoniales de la Catedral de Caracas entre 1725 y 1735. Dicha fuente ha sido tratada a través de una base de datos, buscando relaciones y destacando casos relevantes. Esta metodología ha permitido percibir tendencias que demuestran que aunque en la sociedad caraqueña de esa época predominó la endogamia, también hubo mestizaje dentro de uniones matrimoniales. Asimismo, se ha observado la diversidad en la procedencia de sus habitantes y su calidad étnica, entre otros datos obtenidos en las partidas.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1This paper proposes to study Caracas’s society by using the marriage records of Cathedral Parish between 1725 and 1735. This source has been used to form a database that identifies relations and highlights relevant cases. This methodology has allowed us to perceive tendencies that demonstrate that although Caracas’s society commonly practiced inbreeding, there was also miscegenation, even within legal unions such as marriages. In addition, it reveals the diversity of origins of its inhabitants and their ethnic qualities, along with other data obtained from the records.es_VE
