| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | The present paper aims to analyze the expansion and growth of major representatives of European retail fashion in Latin American and Caribbean countries over the last twenty-three years, paying attention to companies such as: Inditex, Hennes & Mauritz (H & M), Cortefiel and Mango, which are currently four of the most successful commercial entities in the sector. Th e fi ndings of this study reveal how the arrival of these groups was related to economic events such as the implementation of neoliberal policies in the 1990s and the economic development of the 2000s, and politicians such as: the rise/fall of leftist projects on the continent and the increase of the middle class in recent years. Despite the variability of scenarios planned in these years, it was concluded that the long-standing European influx in relation to taste made European fashion a cultural consumption that was strengthened by the occurrence of various conjunctures. | es_VE |
