| dc.description.abstract | Evelyn Zoppi de Roa (1931- ) es una bióloga venezolana que desde 1960 cuando inició labores en el Instituto Oceanográfico de Venezuela (creado en 1958) ha venido
realizando importantes aportes al estudio del plancton marino y dulceacuícola del país. Desde este Instituto, se convirtió en la primera planctóloga venezolana
a partir de su participación en las expediciones del buque «Guaiquerí I» propiedad de la Universidad de Oriente. La mayor parte de la trayectoria de Zoppi la
desarrollo desde 1963 en el Instituto de Zoología Tropical de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, justamente donde comenzó en la década de 1970 sus indagaciones
en el plancton dulceacuícola. En este trabajo, hacemos un relato de su vida y las contribuciones a la ciencia que le han permitido ocupar un sitial importante en
el campo de las Ciencias del Mar en Venezuela. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | Evelyn Zoppi de Roa (1931-) is a Venezuelan biologist who, since 1960 when she started working at the Oceanographic Institute of Venezuela (created in 1958),
has been making important contributions to the study of marine and freshwater plankton in the country. From this Institute, she became the first Venezuelan
planktologist from her participation in the expeditions of the vessel "Guaiquerí I" owned by the Universidad de Oriente. The most Zoppi´s carrer has been
developed since 1962 in the Institute of Tropical Zoology of the Central University of Venezuela, precisely where he began in the 1970s his research in the
freshwater plankton. In this work, we make an account of his life and the contributions to science that have allowed him to occupy an important place in the
