| dc.description.abstract | A siete años de la apertura de la Zona Arqueológica Cañada de la
Virgen, celebrada el 12 de febrero de 2011, podemos reflexionar sobre
los aspectos positivos y negativos en la implementación del Plan de
Manejo que tiene los siguientes componentes básicos: Investigación;
Conservación; Mantenimiento; Protección jurídica, técnica y seguridad; Interpretación, educación y
difusión; Operación; Administración; y Vinculación social. El texto de este artículo abordará en su
conjunto estos campos de manejo y los dilemas actuales, el propósito es construir
una crítica académica que permita evaluar y planear para mejorar la

| dc.description.abstract1 | After seven years of the opening to the public of the Cañada de
la Virgen archaeological site (in 12 February 2011), we can reflect about
the positive and negative aspects of the implementation of the site’s management plan. This plan has
the following basic components: research, conservation, maintenance, legal and technical protection,
security, interpretation, education and diffusion, operation, administration, and social outreach.
This paper discusses all these fields of management and the current debates. My aim is to construct an
academic critique that would allow us to evaluate and plan for a better relationship between
heritage and tourism, as well as the policies that must be designed. | es_VE |
