Abstract
La investigación se enmarcó en el nivel descriptivo correlacional con un diseño de campo. Tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre la adecuación de energía y macronutrientes y conocimiento sobre nutrición en estudiantes de Nutrición y Dietética de la Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida,Venezuela, durante el periodo académico U-2015. La población de estudio estuvo integrada por 179 estudiantes regulares del 1er al 3er año de la carrera. La muestra fue seleccionada mediante un muestreo estratificado, participando voluntariamente en la investigación 101 estudiantes. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó el recordatorio de 24 horas durante 2 días no consecutivos y un test de conocimientos sobre nutrición, constituido por 20 preguntas de selección simple. Los resultados indicaron que más del 80% de los estudiantes encuestados consumen una dieta sub-adecuada en energía y macronutrientes, que no cubre sus requerimientos nutricionales. El conocimiento sobre nutrición se ubicó en los tres estratos en la categoría regular representado por el 58.40% de los encuestados. En conclusión, no se encontró relación entre la adecuación de energía y macronutrientes y el conocimiento sobre nutrición.

This investigation was a correlational descriptive with field design study. The objective was to find the relationship between the energy and macronutrients adequacy and knowledge about nutrition in students of nutrition and dietetics from the Universidad de Los Andes during the academic period U-2015. The study population was composed by 179 regular students of 1st and 3rd year of the career. The sample was selected using a stratified sampling, 101 students voluntarily participating in the study. For the data collection was applied a 24 hours for 2 non-consecutive days’ reminder and a test of knowledge about nutrition, consisting of 20 questions of simple selection. The results showed that more than 80% of the students surveyed consume an inadequate diet in energy and macronutrients that does not cover their nutritional requirements. Knowledge about nutrition ranked in the 3 levels of the regular category represented by 58.40% of the surveyed. In conclusion, no relationship was found between the adequacy of energy and macronutrients and the knowledge about nutrition. |
