dc.description.abstractEl tema central del artículo es el análisis del surgimiento de la historiografía tachirense a finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX; un amplio corpus bibliográfico cuyo principal objetivo fue dar a conocer el Táchira de la época y sus posibilidades de desarrollo económico, y que si bien refleja un interés por llevar a cabo una revisión de la región y sus capacidades desde el punto de vista histórico, se trata de una producción dentro del ámbito de lo tradicional, pues reprodujo las limitantes de esa historiografía y consolidó una forma de exposición y construcción histórica sobre la localidad y la región que aún prevalecen.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The central theme of the article is the analysis of the emergence of Tachiren historiography in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century; an extensive bibliographic corpus whose main objective was to publicize the Táchira of the time and its possibilities of economic development, and that although it reflects an interest in carrying out a revision of the region and its capacities from the historical point of view, it is a production within the scope of the traditional, because it reproduced the limitations of that historiography and consolidated a form of exhibition and historical construction on the locality and the region that still prevail.es_VE
