Resumen en otro Idioma | An alternative to reduce deforestation in the Amazon is to increase the productivity of the already opened areas. In this conjecture, the objective was to analyze the sustainability of the commercial horticultural production generated in the town of Carlinda, Mato Grosso, in order to contribute to the strengthening of regional family agriculture. Initially, we identified 43 horticulturists. They were interviewed with the help of questionnaires that allowed the achievement of the Index of Economic and Social Development, Social Capital, Agroecological, Political-Institutional and Family Organization, which made up the Family Agricultural Sustainability Index. Horticultural production in Carlinda exhibited a compromised Family Agricultural Sustainability (0.54), requiring public policies that address social, economic and management needs. However, at the same time, it also showed a high potential for expansion, constituting an alternative to the large monocultures present in the Southern Amazon. |
