| dc.description.abstract | En este artículo pretendo re-construir el pasado de una comunidad popular caraqueña, haciendo uso de sus memorias colectivas en torno al vigilantismo. Este fenómeno se trata del uso de la violencia colectiva para castigar un presunto acto criminal, y emerge en contextos en los que impera la desigualdad, la impunidad y una profunda desconfianza en los organismos de seguridad del Estado. Para ello concentro mi indagación en un barrio ubicado en la parroquia 23 de Enero de la ciudad de Caracas. Mediante un análisis a entrevistas realizadas a vecinos del sector, reorganicé la información en narrativas que relatan dos capítulos de la violencia en el barrio: los linchamientos ocurridos hacen más de 20 años y las prácticas de ajusticiamiento ejecutadas por los colectivos y la violencia policial producida por recientes operaciones militarizadas. En los relatos, emergen diversos espacios, transformaciones, hitos e instituciones como marcos para la reconstrucción de la memoria colectiva, elementos para reflexionar críticamente sobre la justicia y el vigilantismo. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | In this paper I intend to re-construct the past of a popular community in Caracas, making use of their collective memories of vigilantism. This phenomenon consists in the use of collective violence to punish an alleged criminal act; it emerges in contexts in which inequality, impunity and deep distrust in the State security organizations. For this I focus my investigation in a neighborhood located in the parish of 23 de Enero of the Caracas city. Through an analysis of interviews carried out with residents of the sector, I reorganized the information into narratives that relate two chapters of violence in the neighborhood: lynchings that occurred more than 20 years ago, and the practices of executions carried out by the colectivos and the police violence produced by recent militarized operations. Among the most relevant results, various places, transformations, milestones and institutions emerge as frameworks for the reconstruction of collective memory, elements to critically reflect on justice and vigilantism. | es_VE |
