| Resumen en otro Idioma | One of the methods to analyze seed germination is survival analysis. Within them, in the germination of Swietenia macrophylla King, the Kaplan-Meier methods were applied, with Wilcoxon and Log-rank tests, the Cox proportional hazard model and the accelerated time to failure (ATF) model. The seeds were sown individually in drawers for germination, in a completely randomized design. The treatments tested were based on gibberellin and auxin, with the commercial products ProGibb® and Giber Grop®, with seed immersion for 24 hours in concentrations of 200, 400 and 800 ppm of ProGibb® and 600 ppm of Giber Grop®. The control was the treatment with seed immersion in water for 24 hours. Germination was evaluated daily for 30 days. With LIFETEST (SAS), the Wilcoxon tests indicated that with p < 0.05, there is not enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis between treatments (p = 0.4407). When adjusting the Cox model, using PROC PHREG (SAS®), the interaction between the covariates and time were not statistically significant (p > 0.05), which implied accepting the model. In addition, an ATF model was proposed, implemented with PROC LIFEREG (SAS) and by Akaike Information Criterion, the Log logistic distribution was selected to describe survival over time. Immersion in water was the treatment that prolonged the germination time the most. In contrast, treatment with Giber Grop 600 ppm accelerated the process. In the treatments with Pro Gibb, it was notable that, at a higher concentration, germination obtained less prolongation of germination. |
