The extensive pathological tissue proliferation covering the nose entirely was found in a patient from the tropical flat lands (Llanos) of Venezuela.

In the inflammatory tissue of this pathological proliferation preferently histiocytes are seen. They show a vacuolic, foamy cytoplasm and plasmacellular infiltrates. HE stain.

In the centre of this field a cell is seen conaining numerous germs of this disease. They are bacteria of the species Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis. This finding is not a frequent one.
