dc.description.abstractAntonio Buero Vallejo, dramaturgo español fallecido en abril del año 2000, ha producido una extensa obra ampliamente conocida en el ámbito español, europeo y norteamericano pero menos difundida en América Latina. Las meninas, estrenada en 1960, es una de las piezas más conocidas del autor. Buero reúne en este drama los temas del arte y del poder, a través de un conflicto dramático esencial: las limitaciones que sufre el artista para plasmar su creación en épocas de signo autoritario. El drama enfrenta a Diego Velázquez, individuo excepcional y conciencia lúcida de su época, con el poder.es_VE
