dc.description.abstractEn el 2001, durante la Cumbre de Mandatarios en Margarita el presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez Frías planteó la idea de construir el ALBA (Alternativa Bolivariana para la América y el Caribe) en contrapartida al ALCA. Desde entonces la idea se ha ido concretando en una serie de documentos y discutiendo en diferentes escenarios, eventos y foros sociales como una posición sostenida por Venezuela para combatir la pobreza y reducir la inequidad y exclusión social reinante en la región. En el marco de ALBA, Venezuela ha signado una serie de acuerdos bilaterales de Integración Regional los cuales se vienen cumpliendo con más de cinco países de la región. El ALBA se ha transformado de una mera idea a una realidad traducida en una estrategia geopolítica regional y de modelo económico basado en el desarrollo endógeno como estrategia doméstica. En este trabajo se analiza como el ALBA se ha ido hilando y difundiendo en medio de las incertidumbres y críticas por la falta de un grueso del sustento teórico, y como se ha ido elaborando la teoría en conjunción con la práctica entre aciertos y desaciertos.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1In the 2001, during the presidents Summit Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez raised the idea to construct the Bolivarian Alternative for America and the Caribbean (Knows as ALBA in Spanish) in counterpart to the FTAA. Since then, the ALBA idea has been taken shape in a series of documents and discussing in different scenes, meetings and social forums, as a position maintained by Venezuela to fight the poverty and to reduce to inequities and social exclusion in the region. Within the ALBA framework, Venezuela has signed some bilateral agreements on Regional Integration matters with more than five countries from the region. The ALBA has become from an idea to a reality translated as a regional geopolitical strategy and economic model based on the endogenous development like domestic strategy. In this paper, the progress of ALBA is analyzed and how it has been spreading among uncertainties and critics by the lack of theoretical base, at the time it has been elaborated the theory in conjunction with the practice between achievements and inaccuracies.es_VE
