dc.description.abstractJosé Gil Fortoul publicó el 22 de marzo de 1883 el artículo “Sufragio Popular”. Allí expuso la importancia del voto, sugirió su carácter popular, directo, secreto y universal, como base del ideal republicano. Analizaremos dicho artículo, a fin de exponer la trascendencia de las afirmaciones de Gil Fortoul para el siglo XX venezolano.es_VE
