dc.description.abstractEn la obra literaria del mártir de América, José Martí, se combinan ingeniosamente la majestuosidad expresiva y la riqueza reflexiva para dar lugar a páginas de inconmensurable valor dentro de la historia de las ideas y las letras de Nuestra América. Martí cultivó distintos géneros literarios, pero quizás sus importantes aportes a través ensayo han eclipsado su faceta como poeta que, como toda su obra, no carece de calidad estética; esa calidad se hace evidente al revisar el poemario Ismaelillo en el que, entre otras cosas, encontramos la inauguración de un Nuevo Sujeto Literario que va a tener infl uencias decisivas en el desarrollo ulterior de las letras hispanoamericanas.es_VE

Marti cultivated different genres, but perhaps their important contributions through trial have eclipsed his career as a poet who, like all his work, not without aesthetic quality, that quality is evident when reviewing the Ismaelillo poems in which, among other things, fi nd the opening of a new literary subject that will have decisive infl uence on the further development of American literature.es_VE
