| dc.description.abstract | La Guerra contra la Triple Alianza (1864-1870), conflicto que enfrentó al Paraguay contra
Argentina, Brasil y Uruguay, aniquiló su estructura productiva y financiera, además de una parte
de su población económicamente activa. El artículo analiza el modo cómo estos sucesos
influyeron en el surgimiento de disciplinas científicas como la psicología. Se describen todos los
eventos relevantes para enmarcar la situación del país en el contexto político, militar, económico
y cultural antes, durante y después de la guerra. Se finaliza con algunas apreciaciones sobre el
curso que podría haber tomado el desarrollo de la psicología en el Paraguay de haber sido

| dc.description.abstract1 | The war against the Triple Alliance (1864-1870), a warlike that confronted Paraguay against
Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, destroyed both its productive and financial structure and also
its economic population. The article points out the way in which these events influenced some
scientific fields, especially psychology. It describes all outstanding events for a correct
understanding of the country's situation before, during and after the war. In the final section some
appraisements are made on the course that psychology would have take in Paraguay, if
