| dc.description.abstract | El presente artículo se focaliza en analizar el retardo en el escalafón del
personal docente y de investigación activo de la Universidad de Los Andes-
Venezuela. En ese sentido, producto de base de datos suministrada por la Oficina
de Asuntos profesorales de esta universidad, se obtuvo fechas de ascenso en cada
categoría, tiempo de retardo, dedicación, grado académico, distinciones y otras
primas, con lo que se determino el número de docentes al día y retardados en el
escalafón universitario, lo que permitió establecer: antigüedad, proporción de retardo
en cada categoría del escalafón y proporción de retardo total por cada docente. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | This article focuses on the analysis of delays in the promotion of faculty at the
University of Los Andes, Venezuela. For this purpose, the office in charge of
faculty affairs at this University provided a database containing the dates of the
promotions to the different academic ranks, length of the delays, type of
appointment (full-time or nearly full-time), academic level, awards and other
bonuses received. These data served to determine the number of professors
that have not had any delays in promotions and the number of those who have,
which allowed us to establish the time of service, the ratio of delay for each
academic rank, and the ratio of total delay for each faculty member. | es_VE |
