| dc.description.abstract | La acertada acepción que hoy se reconoce sobre ambiente permite vislumbrar la ampliación de la oferta de servicios ambientales aportados por la vegetación a la ciudad, al involucrar en ellos además
de las bondades de ésta en la calidad de la atmósfera y los suelos, en la humedad y la velocidad del aire, en la radiación solar y en la protección contra ruidos, los asociados a la conformación del paisaje,
a la recreación y el sosiego humano y a la estructuración física urbana. Ella igualmente genera soporte a la visión ecosistémica de la ciudad. Esta investigación igualmente plantea reconocer los beneficios de la vegetación en la ciudad, como aportes al tan requerido equili-
brio ambiental urbano. Para ello se ha llevado a cabo un proceso de investigación-acción, caracterizado por el diseño de varias estrategias consecutivas, asociadas a diferentes contextos socio-administrativos,
escalas espaciales y momentos históricos, que involucran la docencia con la investigación y la extensión universitaria; implicando formación ciudadana, a los fines de contribuir significativamente en la calidad de vida urbana. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | The right meaning that is now recognized on environment allows to glimpse the expansion of environmental services provided by vege-
tation into the city, by involving its bene ts on the quality of the atmosphere and soil, moisture and air speed, solar radiation and noise protection; associated with the formation of the landscape, recreation, human peace and urban physical structuring. This also generates support for the ecosystem vision of the city. This research proposes to recognize the benefits of vegetation in the city, as inputs to the urban environmental balance as required. This is carried out by a process of research-action, characterized by the design of several consecutive strategies, associated with different social and administrative contexts, spatial scales and historical moments, involving university teaching
