dc.description.abstractLos paisajes de los Andes Venezolanos están sometidos a cambios en la cobertura vegetal relacionados, tanto a la dinámica natural, como a la resultante de las actividades humanas, por lo que analizar estas transformaciones a través de un estudio multitemporal es pertinente desde el punto de vista geográfico y ecológico. Este trabajo permitió conocer el comportamiento de la vegetación en un período histórico, analizando para ello la información de fotografías aéreas de 1952 y 1996 e imágenes de satélite del 2008 mediante programas especializados (Ilwis y Erdas), elaborándose mapas de cobertura vegetal y su posterior verificación de campo a través de entrevistas dirigidas a informantes claves. Los resultados muestran la disminución de la cobertura de la tierra (bosque ripario y páramo), un aumento del bosque siempreverde seco, del bosque prepáramero, y en la superficie dedicada a cultivos y pastizales naturales. Otros cambios ocurridos son el aumento de las vías de penetración agrícola y de nuevas viviendas lo que ha modificado el paisaje de la zona afectando a un sector del Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The landscapes of the Venezuelan Andes are submitted to changes in the vegetable coverage and transformation of the natural related ecosystems, so much to the natural dynamics, as to the resultant of human activities, therefore to analyze these transformations, using a multitemporary study is pertinent from a geographic and ecological point of view. This work allowed us to know the behavior of the vegetation in a historical period, for this there were analyzed the information of 1952 and 1996 aerial photography’s and satellite images from 2008, processed by specialized programs (Ilwis and Erdas), that allowed the elaboration of vegetable coverage maps and it´s later verification on field, through interviews directed to key informants. The results show the decrease of the coverage of natural ecosystems (forestsri parian, and páramo), the increase of the evergreen dry forest, the preparamo forest and in the surface dedicated to natural crops and pastures. Other changes are the increase of new routes of agricultural penetration and housings that modified the landscape of the zone affecting a sector of the National Park Sierra Nevada.es_VE
