| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | Physalis peruviana is a species native to the Andes region of South America, which is a member of the Solanaceae family. The essential oil of leaves and stems of this plant were isolated by hydrodestilation, using a Clevenger trap, with yields of 0.01 % and 0.012 % respectively. The chemical composition of the oils was determined by GC-MS and Kovats indices measurement. Twenty two components were identifi ed in the leaves´oil, and it was found that the major constituents were hexadecanoic acid (42.8 %), (-)-hexadecene epoxide (28.8 %), phytol (4.7 %), and hexadecanoic acid methyl ester (2.1 %). On the stems´oil 21 components were identifi ed; the most abundant constituents were hexadecanoic acid (80.5 %), pentadecanoic acid (3.3 %) and tetradecanoic acid (2.6 %). This is the fi rst report on the chemical composition of the volatile components from leaves and stems of Physalis peruviana L. from Venezuela. | es_VE |
