Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo resumir de una manera general las
principales características de la economía y la sociedad de la ciudad de Valencia
en el siglo XVIII, señalando la acción del reformismo borbónico y la actitud de
la élite capitular frente a estas medidas. La fuente principal para elaborar esta
síntesis proviene de las Actas del cabildo de Valencia y se ha complementado
con información bibliográfica sobre el período.
