Abstract
Desde 1991 la república de Sudáfrica ha experimentado un proceso transicional a
partir del cual se creó un Estado multirracial que puso fin al apartheid. Para muchos
este proceso fue exitoso y gran parte del mismo fue debido a la creación y trabajo
de la Comisión de Verdad y Reconciliación. Inclusive estos análisis aseveran que
la comisión fue una elección política de verdad en detrimento de la justicia. Este
trabajo pretende matizar esta afirmación, dando cuenta del proceso de largo plazo
que implicó la transición sudafricana y la presencia de la justicia como un valor
irrenunciable, principalmente para las víctimas.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | Since 1991, the Republic of South Africa has undergone a highly complex transitional process from which a multiracial state was created that ended Apartheid. For many this process was successful and much of this success was due to the creation and work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Even these analyses assert that the Commission was a real political choice to the detriment of justice. This paper aims we intend to clarify this statement, taking into account the long-term process that implied the South African transition and the presence of justice as an inalienable vue, mainly for the victims. |
