He demonstrates that philosophy has an immediate human object that is the philosopher upon whom its transforming effects flows. The philosopher seeks knowledge to become himself good, and imposes upon himself the duty of sharing his knowledge with the rest of mankind so that they become good also and, moreover, make them happy. The philosopher cannot isolete himself. He must participate in public life as an educator of the people. |
