dc.description.abstractEl cacao marcó el desarrollo venezolano durante el siglo XVIII y gran parte del XIX. Su cultivo, la sociabilidad presente en la hacienda, y la mano de obra, primero esclava y luego libre, fueron ejes estructurantes de la sociedad. Por ello consideramos importante revisar una serie de instrucciones y manuales de cultivo surgidos en este período, que dan muestra del estado de la economía y la técnica, sí, pero también de la cultura propia de la sociedad del cacao.es_VE
