Primer informe sobre indios "Chontales" en Mérida.
Abstract
En este artículo la autora pasa de la noción de "chontal" tal como la utilizaban los españoles durante la colonia, a la noción que hoy maneja el campesino merideño del páramo al respecto. Piensa que la permanencia del "chontal" hasta épocas recientes en zonas parameras podría ser entre otras una manifestación de la resistencia cultural hacia el español.
