| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | This article analyzes the process of state institutionalization of some demands of the Afro-Venezuelan social movement for the incorporation of an anti-racist agenda in the government policies (1999-2018). It is argued that between 1999 and 2011 the relationship between the government and the Afro-descendant movement opened multiple institutional entrances through two interrelated strategies: the proximity policy and the strategic occupation of public positions. Since 2013, there is evidence of the erosion of these strategies and a new government-movement dynamic, characterized by exclusion with limited symbolic concessions. Consequently, since 2018 the challenge is to rescue an autonomous political agenda as a social moveme | es_VE |
