| dc.description.abstract | Este artículo tiene por objeto examinar la visión por parte de la prensa del Virreinato de la Nueva España y de la metrópoli española de la revuelta liderada por Miguel Hidalgo y
Costilla, desde su inicio con el Grito de Dolores el 16 de septiembre de 1810 hasta su
ejecución en Chihuahua el 30 de julio de 1811. A través de este análisis se constatará
cómo a la imagen de lo que había sucedido con la prensa española tras la invasión francesa, los periódicos novohispanos abandonaron su tradicional función informativa para constituir una herramienta clave en la derrota de la insurrección. | es_VE |

the Viceroyalty of New Spain and of the Spanish metropolis, from its beginnings with the Grito de Dolores on September 16, 1810 until Hidalgo´s execution in Chihuahua on July 30, 1811. Through this analysis we will establish how as a mirror of what had happened with the Spanish press after the French invasion, the Newspanish newspapers abandoned their traditional informative role to become a key tool in the defeat of the insurrection. | es_VE |
