dc.description.abstract | La terapia con implantes dentales se ha ido desarrollando durante
décadas con resultados exitosos en cuanto a la oseointegración,
proporcionando una excelente alternativa para el edentulismo
parcial y/o total y se han reportado éxitos hasta de un 90%
después de 15 años: A pesar de esto existen condiciones que
pueden conducir al fracaso, debido a las alteraciones de la
salud de los tejidos periimplantares. La literatura relata similitudes entre los tejidos que rodean a los
dientes y a los tejidos
periimplantares, tanto en salud como en enfermedad, resulta
de especial relevancia las condiciones que pueden provocar
alteraciones en los tejidos que rodean a los implantes dentales. Las enfermedades periimplantarias han
sido clasificadas
por primera vez en un consenso mundial realizado en Chicago
2017, en una nueva era por definir, diagnosticar y tratar tanto la
mucositis periimplantaria como la periimplantitis. Se presenta
una revisión que describe estas entidades patológicas, sus
características clínicas, radiográficas y factores de riesgo a
fin de alcanzar un análisis propicio. | es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | Dental implant therapy has been developing for decades with
successful results in osseointegration, providing an excellent
alternative for partial and / or total edentulism. Successes
have been reported up to 90% after 15 years; however there
are conditions that can lead to failure. The literature relates
similarities between the tissues that surround the teeth and
the peri-implant tissues, both in health and in disease, the conditions that can cause alterations in the
tissues that surround
the dental implants are of particular relevance. Peri-implant
diseases have been classified for a time in a global consensus

both peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. A review is
