Dermatophytosis

In smears of the skin the possibility of a lepra could be excluded, but in the same material and with an adequate staining method branching hyphae and macroconidia were detected. The culture on Sabouraud-Glucose-Agar showed after two weeks a radiating fungal colony. Microscopically Microsporum gypseum was confirmed.
