Histologically fungus cells could not be detected inspite of a long search. In our cases of human infections with Sporothrix schenckii we never have seen fungi in tissues. Exceptionally there are present in large numbers in cases of a local immunodeficiency for instance after a treatment with cortisone in ointments.
