Resumen en otro Idioma | This research focused on the approach to otherness through the relationship between literature and Latin- Caribbean cinema within the Argentine, Mexican and Brazilian filmography during the silent period, through a historical-literary and film journey that accounts for the solid link between the letters and Creole cinematography. Thus, the works of King (1994), Schumann (1987) and Getino (1998) contextualize the Latin American film scene as a field of ideas and complex projects of the social and cultural activities of American societies. Also the studies of Cuarterolo (2008, 2009), Lusnich (2013), Piedras (2012), Mahieu (1981), among others, provide different edges in the approach to national film productions and their relationship with the literary discourse of each country. Finally, the silent cinema in Latin America cannot be divorced from the ties that literature strengthened since its origins, since precisely literary art contributed to the consolidation of national discourses and figures through popular and social filmographies, through a set of stories that contributed to the visibility of the marginalized subjects and postponed by the great speeches, carrying a series of implications of a cultural, historical and political nature. |
